Nails- Golden Speckles

Hey dolls . . .
so today is a day were I sat down and decided to paint my nails another colour, and I thought why not do a post on my nail design!
So it's kind of like a tutorial on how to create this really simple but elegant nail design for yourself... here we go!
First off for this nail design you will need
1) A base coat, I didn't use one today as mine has ran out
2) A base colour, I used the Barry M gelly hi shine in lychee
3) A glitter nail polish, I used a cheap one I had in my tin with different sized gold glitters
4) A top coat, Essie 'good to go' fast drying top coat

*I only just bought the Essie 'good to go' fast drying top coat, so there will be a review coming up sometime soon on this product*

So to get started I would recommend to apply a base coat nail polish as it will give a smoother surface for the design and also protect your nail, after that has dried your then ready to apply the first coat of your base colour I used Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Lychee... so a nice nude colour which I think will suit all skin tones. Then after the first layer has dried you could apply another layer if the polish isn't that opaque. (I did just to be on the safe side haha)
Once you've applied as one or two layers of your base coat it should look like this. . .

Then once the base colour has completely dried it's time to apply the glittery nail polish, for this I just used a cheap one which I found in my nail polish tin. . . I like how the polish itself has different sized glitters running through it but it doesn't half smell funny, very chemically haha.
When applying this coat you could do a few different designs, two designs that I like is when you paint the ring finger and the thumb nail or just the accent finger itself. Like this

Or you could apply it to all your nails which is what I ended up doing in the end . . .

Then once you have applied the glittery layer to all the nails you choose, you simply just leave to dry for a minute or so and then apply a layer of top coat to finish off the drying process. For this I used my new Essie 'good to go' fast drying top coat.

There you have it, my nail tutorial for a simple, very neutral inspired, glitzy nail design!
Hope you liked it : )
